Tango Workshop!

Hello, dance lovers!
This week, the Pershing Society and University Swingers are proud to present the 2010 Tango Workshop with guest instructor Frank Young. Mr. Young has a master’s in ballroom dance, and he is the current director of the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Princeton, New Jersey. If you love dancing or want to learn some Latin moves, there will be classes that are accessible for every level of dancer. The actual workshop will take place on Friday, February 12 and Saturday, February 13, and it will be followed by a tango-passion dance on Saturday night.  Before that, there will be a kickoff yerba mate (Mah-tay) mixer complete with tea, conversation, and cultural presentations from Sigma Delta Pi and other students who have studied abroad in Argentina. Bring your lovers and bring your friends, because it’s 100% free thanks to the Funds Allotment Council!
More information on the workshop can be found in the attached flyer. For more information, please email the Pershing Society at pershingsociety@gmail.com or consult our Facebook event: Tango Workshop!

Minutes from the 1st Meeting

We elected new officers, whose names are posted on the about page.

Activities committee positions are still open, so let us know (our new email address is pershingsociety@gmail.com) if you are interested in planning and carrying out Pershing activities this year.

Also, we will be having a trivia team at SAB’s Tuesday Night Trivia Series. We can have teams of 6, but more people means more teams, which means more Pershing domination. Let us know if you’re interested.

Upcoming Activities:

Monday, Sept 14
Barbecue behind Ryle at 5:00. Sign up to bring things (if you want) in our mailbox in the CSI office.

Thursday, Sept 17
President’s Reception 4:30-6:00. Meet at 4:15 at the fountain if you want to walk over together. Dress classy (business casual), and don’t forget to invite your mentors!

Other Events in the Distant Future:
Semi-regular Meetings (possibly Monday at 5:30), Formal Dance, Stress-Free Day, and Reading Day Breakfast
